The second PLACELAB at the Attis Arena in Scunthorpe was held to highlight skills within the area and grow opportunities by bringing together businesses, local organisations and individuals from the Scunthorpe area.

HELPING TO BUILD A better FUTURE FOR SCUNTHORPE

Thank you so much to the 80 of you who joined us at our second Scunthorpe Place Lab on Friday 21 February 2025.

We loved welcoming you to the Attis Arena and hope you left feeling inspired and energised by the pride in our town and commitment to action to make it even better. 

We had a packed morning of making connections and exploring the future – 3 of our highlights were:

  • Our panel of local community institutions – Community VISION, Scunthorpe Rugby, Scunthorpe United and University Campus North Lincolnshire.

  • The breakout discussions that explored what we want Scunthorpe to be in 2040 – we’ve captured the highlights from these discussions in the attached slides. We’d really welcome any further thoughts – did we miss anything? Does this spark other ideas? Is there anything you particularly agree or disagree with? 

  • Seeing all the individual pledge for action people made, ranging from “telling a friend about Scunthorpe Tomorrow”, through to people making new connections off the back of the event and using their own platforms to change the narrative. We’ve summarised these below.
