Introducing, Community Cohesion
Building bridges. Showcasing stories. Strengthening Scunthorpe
Designed to deliver change
The Community Cohesion Project is a locally driven initiative championing connection, resilience and creativity across Scunthorpe.
This project brings together a diverse mix of grassroots organisations, faith groups, creatives, and volunteers – all working toward one shared goal: a more unified, understanding, and connected community.
Backed by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG), the initiative is made up of seven distinct yet interlinked projects. Each focuses on different aspects of cohesion – from conflict resolution and cultural understanding to creative collaboration and safeguarding.
This work takes on even more meaning in the wake of the challenges currently facing Scunthorpe’s steel industry. It’s about spotlighting the everyday efforts that often go unseen – the people quietly making a difference, the spaces bringing people together, and the stories shaping a more inclusive future.

Find out how we collaborate

Alongside delivery, the project is being captured through film and storytelling by Elliott Pashley, in collaboration with Hebb + Griff, and supported by other local creative businesses, including Knapton Wright.
This documentation isn’t just about fulfilling a requirement – it’s about celebrating the creative talent Scunthorpe has to offer, and using that talent to tell the story of what’s happening here: who’s involved, why it matters, and what it means for the wider community.

The Next Steps
While this project focuses on community cohesion, conversations have already begun around future collaborations involving Scunthorpe’s wider creative sector – a separate, larger vision that needs to develop these conversations further.
For now, this work stands as a timely, powerful reminder of what’s possible when people come together – across backgrounds, across beliefs, and across the town – to make something meaningful happen.
For us, this initial project has laid the foundation for the next inevitable step. Ready for Community Cohesion 2.0? Want to help? Reach out today…
